Prototype 1

Here are sort of skeleton versions of my project (which is a participatory design fiction workshop + collaborative interactive website… it sounds more complicated than it actually is…i hope)

The website: (wireframes)

The homepage starts the story when you click… it opens up to an animated video setting the context for the story…it then opens up an interactive web page where there is an apartment building the center of the page…the windows each represent a different part of the non linear stories of the people living in this future scenario.  When you click on a window it opens up the animation linked to that space.

The workshop itself (possible user journey):

1. Introductions – ice breaker activity (10 min)
2. Presentation of agenda / goals of workshop / context – show video ? (10 min)
3. Participants visit research database – sort them into categories (10 min) – individuals or teams of 2-3
4. Teams choose 1 or 2 points from each category (5-10min)
5. brainstorm / create protagonist (10 min)
6.  brainstorm storyline – conflict / building the environment (10 min)
7. brainstorm solution – write letter to community board? Maybe one option (10 min)
8. use story grid to create storyboard (10 min)
9. Separate into roles (costume designer , props, set designer , actor, director/writer) to each add different visual design components (20 min)
10. Hand storyboard and design iterations over to animators

After workshop:
Animator/Illustrator create a 2 minute video to add to the apartment building
– subtitles ? decided by group
Programmers add it to website
Other roles : web designer – workshop facilitator / designer / branding – music producer
